The Oakland Raiders’ active ways in free agency continued on Thursday. Fresh off signing former New York Jets running back Isaiah Crowell to a one-year contract, Oakland is stealing a defender away from the division-rival Denver Broncos.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Oakland has inked veteran linebacker Brandon Marshall to a one-year contract worth up to $4.1 million.
Marshall, 29, played each of the past six seasons with Denver after initially being a fifth-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2012. During that span, the Nevada product started 63 games for the team.
Marshall figures to start next to fellow recent acquisition Vontaze Burfict at linebacker for what is quickly becoming a rebuilt Raiders defensive front seven.
