Jordy Nelson retiring from the NFL after 11 seasons, per report

Recently released by the Oakland Raiders, wide receiver Jordy Nelson is reportedly calling it a career after 11 seasons.

Former Green Bay Packers teammate James Jones, who is now with NFL Network, shared the news on Twitter Wednesday morning.

For a time, Nelson was undeniably one of the NFL’s top wide receivers. From 2011-16, he hauled in 57 touchdowns, despite missing the entire 2015 season, and four games in 2012.

Over the course of his 11-year NFL career, Nelson caught 613 passes for 8,587 yards and 72 touchdowns. He finishes his career with the second-most touchdowns and third-most catches in Packers history.

Nelson also won a Super Bowl with Green Bay, made a Pro Bowl squad, and won NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2016.
