It’s been more than a year and a half since Floyd Mayweather schooled Conor McGregor in the sweet science of boxing, but a rematch could be coming.
Or, at least that’s what McGregor hinted at during a recent Twitter exchange.
I spoiled it with the rush right hook here. The angle was made. He was in the dirt. I just had to set correctly into my feet and fire. Rushing the right hook I lost balance on my back hand.
Great boxing fight!
A rematch will be interesting no doubt. https://t.co/bYVWhOjKO4— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) March 6, 2019
“A rematch will be interesting no doubt.”
That’s the line that caught our eye, specifically the “will” part.
Given the money each fighter hauled in last time (McGregor reportedly landed $100 million, while Mayweather says he brought home $300 million), it’s not surprising that the two fighters would consider a rematch.
Since the first fight, Mayweather has retired from professional boxing. Yet, it would surprise nobody if Money did opt to return to the ring for another go at The Notorious.
