In a not-so-surprising decision, the Chicago Bears plan toΒ release kicker Cody Parkey after a poor season. That would include Parkey’s famous double-doink that ended the Bearsβ postseason run in January.
But have no fear. The Bears have signed new kicker named…Chris Blewitt.
We have signed kicker Chris Blewitt.

This stuff literally canβt be made up. This name ranks up there some of the most “punny” names in sports such as MLB pitchers Grant Balfour and Homer Bailey.
Did the Bears think that nobody is going to razz them for this?
Nope. Twitter caught on pretty quickly and the responses are hilarious.
Was Donny Double Doink unavailable?

How can you sign a kicker named Blewitt? Trade a 3rd rounder for Robbie Gould! @RobbieGould09
