Rickie Fowler isn’t going to have fond memories of the 11th hole at TPC Scottsdale. On Sunday, ahead of the field by five strokes, he carded a 7 on the par-4 and walked off the 11th green having lost four strokes off his lead.
Here’s how it went down.
Fowler, from just off the green, pitched up toward the pin. The ball just kept rolling, however, and rolled right off the green into the water.

Things only spiraled down from there, as after Fowler placed the ball on the grass and walked away, he was penalized when it rolled back into the water.

Thankfully Fowler was able to drain the 10-footer for a 7. But this huge gaffe-filled hole will test his mettle down the stretch.
Sure enough, Fowler bogeyed the next hole, and just like that his five-stroke lead was gone.
