The Atlanta Falcons are not wasting any time moving on from high-profile members of their struggling 2018 roster.
According to multiple media reports, Atlanta is set to release starting cornerback Robert Alford after he spent his first six NFL seasons with the team.
The #Falcons are releasing CB Robert Alford, sources say. The 2013 second-round pick had 10 INTs in 88 games in his six years in Atlanta. Was due $8.5m this upcoming season. Figure he gets another gig before the start of free agency.

Alford, 30, performed well in a full-time starting role opposite Desmond Trufant from 2015-17. Though, he struggled big time this past season in both coverage and avoiding costly penalties.
In fact, Alford allowed more passing yards than any other corner in the league this past season.
Signed to a four-year, $38 million extension back in December of 2016, Alford was slated to count $9.1 million against the cap in 2019. The Falcons save a cool $7.9 million by releasing him.
