Back in January of 2012, Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley was merely a teenager that had just committed to play football at Georgia.
Gurley had no idea he’d be facing Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII some seven years later.
Instead, the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year was more worried about what the 2012 version of the Patriots might do against the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI.
This where this story starts. Here’s a tweet from Gurley back on January 22 of that year.
S/O to all the Patriots fan but I think ima go against yall in the super bowl.

Not a Patriots fan, Mr. Gurley?
As pretty much everyone reading this article knows, Eli Manning and the Giants handed New England an upset loss in the Super Bowl.
Fast forward seven years and with Gurley set to take on the Patriots, he’s certainly receiving the treatment on Twitter.
