The Duke Blue Devils entered Monday’s game against Syracuse with a 14-1 mark and ranked No. 1 in the nation. Winners of nine consecutive games, they were overwhelming favorites to take out the unranked Orange.
It didn’t go too swimmingly for Coach K and Co. Once star freshman Tre Jones exited the game with a shoulder injury, Syracuse pounced on that unfortunate injury.
In the end, the very same Syracuse team that had lost to Old Dominion and Buffalo earlier in the season came out on top by the score of 95-91 in overtime.
