In a season where very little has gone right for the Washington Wizards, things could be on the verge of getting far worse. All-Star point guard John Wall is reportedly considering undergoing season-ending surgery to fix his injured heel.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Wall is contemplating surgery to address his injured left heel. If he undergoes the surgery, it is expected he would miss six-to-eight months.
Wall is leaning toward undergoing the season-ending surgery, which was prescribed by specialist today, league sources said. He will make decision final next week. Surgery route will fully heal the bone spurs that have nagged him for years and allow him to perform at full steam. https://t.co/vtaYyHnRtf

According to the report, Wall has battled through lingering pain in his left heel throughout the season. As the team continues to struggle and the pain intensified, he made the decision to visit a specialist on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old has played a crucial role for the Wizards this season and performed well even through the pain. In 32 games, Wall averaged 20.7 points, 8.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game.
If Wall undergoes surgery and misses the remainder of the season, it will push shooting guard Bradley Beal into an even larger role. The 25-year-old is averaging 23.8 points, 4.7 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game this season. His numbers would likely increase even more without Wall.
