After trading Alex Wood, Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig to the Cincinnati Reds, the Los Angeles Dodgers now find themselves in great position to spend this offseason.
The blockbuster deal helped the Dodgers clear room under MLB’s luxury-tax threshold, even after they waive Homer Bailey’s massive contract.
It’s the type of move that a team only makes with bigger plans. Wood and Puig would have been significant contributors for the Dodgers in 2018 and they played key roles in the team’s run to the World Series.
As fans and analysts started to connect the dots and work towards an idea following the financially-beneficial deal, everyone got excited as it centered around one name being the big target for the Dodgers and the next star in Los Angeles.

That sound you hear is Scott Boras laughing as the Dodgers have opened up both a spot in the outfield and payroll room following their trade with the Reds. Let the Bryce Harper-to-the-Dodgers chatter officially begin.

I mean, Harper with the Dodgers is gonna be annoying I’m the postseason, but not as bad as Harper in Chicago would have been.

So how long before Harper is a Dodger now?
