The New Orleans Saints are on an absolute mission right now. Heading into Sunday’s game against the defending champion Eagles, New Orleans had won eight consecutive. It dropped nearly 100 combined points over the past two games. We’re talking about a team that’s acting the part of a devastating force.
Philadelphia found that out first hand on Sunday. The Saints dominated out of the gate, taking a 24-7 lead into the half. It was pretty much the same story in the second half, as the Saints scored two unanswered third quarter touchdowns to take a 38-7 lead.
Apparently that wasn’t enough for Sean Payton and Co. Up 31 points earlier in the fourth quarter and facing a fourth-and-6, Payton decided to go for it. The end result was a 37-yard touchdown from Drew Brees to Alvin Kamara.

That’s just wrong in every possible way. What did New Orleans gain from rubbing it in? Style points?
There were obviously mixed reactions to New Orleans going for the gauntlet while up 38-7.
Petty Sean Payton is back.#Saints are up 31 in the 4th quarter, and they go for it on 4th and 7 with a deep TD pass to Alvin Kamara.
Personally, I love it.

Saints go for it on 4th & 7 when they're up by 31 in the fourth quarter. They score a 38 yard TD.
Your team either wakes up being this aggressive or they don't.

Saints up 38-7 and throwing the ball like its 7-7. I love it. Stay aggressive as long as possible. Sends a great message to your team.

Sean Payton went for it on 4th-and-7, up 31, in the 4th quarter.

You can go ahead and decide for yourself whether this was bush league. As it relates to the Saints, they probably couldn’t care less what we think. Keep grinding.
