The Detroit Lions were already a train wreck on Sunday on the road against the Minnesota Vikings, and then Matthew Stafford went completely off the rails.
Trying to make something out of a broken play, Stafford scrambled outside the pocket with running back Kerryon Johnson trailing. At the last moment, making a hasty, and ill-conceived decision, he pitched to Johnson, who wasn’t expecting the ball.
Danielle Hunter scooped up the ball after it bounced off Johnson’s hands, and he romped 32 yards for a defensive score.

All of a sudden, a game that was somehow still within reach for the Lions was well out of hand.
