The Pittsburgh area and the entire United States were thrown into mourning once again this past weekend after a gunman killed 11 worshippers at the Tree of Life Synagogue last Saturday.
It’s the latest example of mass shootings that continue to plague the United States in what seems to be an America-centric problem. Notably, the terrorist attack took place on one of the holiest days for those who practice the Jewish religion.
It also impacted some within the sports world, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger included. Close friend, Michele Rosenthal, lost two brothers in the shooting. Now, as his team takes on the division-rival Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Big Ben is paying tribute to the victims of the attack.
Check out the cleats he’s wearing for the game.

“Stronger than hate.”
This tells us the story of the Pittsburgh community and the Squirrel Hill neighborhood that has come together since the deadly attack.
Even with Sunday’s game being played in Baltimore, we’re expecting some sort of pre-game tribute to honor the victims. It’s times like these that those around the football world come together in a common cause. Despite their on-field rivalry, that will be front and center between these two teams.
