Rob Gronkowski reportedly won’t play in Week 10

The New England Patriots are reportedly playing it safe with star tight end Rob Gronkowski, who will not suit up for the team’s Week 10 game against the Tennessee Titans.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, “The team is taking the smart, cautious approach by making sure he’s back after the bye at full strength to close the season strong.”

It makes sense. A healthy Gronk down the stretch makes New England all that more dangerous. If he comes back too soon and suffers a relapse in his recovery, not having him could seriously damage New England’s chances of making a Super Bowl run.

So far this year, Gronkowski has looked old and slow at times, however, while dealing with what’s becoming a seemingly never-ending string of nagging injuries. He has caught just 29 passes for 448 yards and only a single touchdown — low numbers for a player of his caliber.
