Josh Allen started throwing, is ‘day-to-day’ and could play Sunday against Jets

The Buffalo Bills might be getting back first-round quarterback Josh Allen in time for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

Head coach Sean McDermott told reporters on Monday that Allen, who’s been out with an elbow injury, has been upgraded to a “day-to-day” status, and isn’t ruling out the rookie playing in Week 10.

Given the way Nathan Peterman and Derek Anderson played in Allen’s absence — it’s been ugly, folks — this would be a welcome change.

Though he’s been rough as a rookie in 2018, Allen at least has given Bills fans something to cheer about from time to time.

On the season, the rookie has completed 54 percent of his passes for 832 yards with two touchdowns and five interceptions. He’s also scored three touchdowns on the ground.
