The Los Angeles Dodgers are NL West champs. And that’s only the first step in what will be a run to a championship, at least according to Yasiel Puig.
In his postgame interview after the Dodgers clinched the NL West in Monday’s tiebreaker, Puig put the Atlanta Braves — and the rest of the teams in the postseason — on notice.

“Hey, Atlanta. I’ll see you soon, baby. And the next one, Chicago, Colorado, no matter who’s going, we’re going to beat them. We’re going to the World Series again. And this time, we’re going to win the World Series. In 2018, the big party is here in Los Angeles.”
With Monday’s win over the Colorado Rockies, the Dodgers have avoided the single-elimination Wild Card Game. Still, the task will be far from easy.
With that said, we like the confidence.
Los Angeles has accomplished just about everything else in Puig’s career. The Dodgers have now won six straight NL West championships and got to Game 7 of the World Series a season ago.
It’s hard to blame Puig for thinking that this is the year. But come Thursday, it will be time to back up the big talk on the field.
