Nebraska RB Greg Bell reportedly to transfer

Greg Bell opened the 2018 season as the starting running back for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, but now he’s reportedly set to transfer after four games, per Rivals’ HuskerOnline.com.

“Junior college transfer running back Greg Bell has left the team a source has confirmed to HuskerOnline. Nebraska would not confirm the news yet on Friday as they get ready to leave for Madison, but Bell was not on the travel roster. They don’t plan to address his status until after Saturday night’s Wisconsin game.”

Nebraska is currently on an 0-4 losing skid to open the season. Bell had 27 carries for 168 yards in the first two games of the season but saw his workload diminish significantly the past two games, which saw him carry the ball just eight times.

As Bell’s workload diminished, Nebraska turned to Devine Ozigbo to carry the load.

Because he has only played in four games this year, the junior college transfer is eligible for a redshirt season under the new rules.

Bell is not the first Nebraska player to transfer this week. Wide receiver Tyjon Lindsey, a former four-star recruit, beat him to it.
