For the second time in as many days, the Major League Baseball replay system absolutely failed itself big time.
Fresh off a questionable call in the NL Wild Card Game between the Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies on Tuesday, more drama unfolded inside Yankee Stadium on Wednesday.
With the New York Yankees up 5-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Oakland Athletics seemingly thwarted another run when Nick Martini threw out Luke Voit at home on a fly ball by Didi Gregorius.
After initially being called safe, the umps went to the replay. We’re not sure what they saw, because it was clear that Voit was out at home plate.

Sure this didn’t come in a close game. New York was up 5-0, having already plated three runs in the stanza.
Even then, it’s another black eye for MLB’s replay system. Get. The. Call. Right.
It shouldn’t be that hard.
