Jerry Jones: Not in Cowboys’ best interest to sign Dez Bryant

Cowboys WR Dez Bryant during game against the Chiefs

Former Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant created a bit of a buzz when he recently tweeted that he would not mind returning to play for Dallas. Though, this does not look like it is going to happen.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones effectively shut down any possibility of Bryant re-signing with the Cowboys during an interview with 105.3 The Fan.

This is about as cut and dry as it gets. Fans of Bryant won’t see him suiting up in a Cowboys jersey anytime soon, if at all.

As it stands, Bryant remains a free agent after turning down offers to play in both Baltimore and Cleveland. And even with teams housing injured wide receivers after four weeks of action, no franchise has appeared to reach out to Bryant.

We will see if that continues to remain the case as the season progresses further.

As it pertains to the Cowboys, their passing offense ranks 29th in the league. It is anyone’s guess as to whether Bryant would help improve it should Jones have a change of heart.
