Having won the PGA Championship twice in his career, Rory McIlroy knows what it takes to succeed on the game’s grandest of stages.
Unfortunately, the early stages of Round 3 at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis on Saturday has not gone exceedingly well for McIlroy.
Here, he shanks a drive off the scoreboard. It’s something that the amateur in all of us have done. We just didn’t expect it from one of the world’s best golfers.
We honestly don’t even know what to say. It was your normal downswing from Rory. He didn’t seem to have any issue with technique and his lower-body form was just fine.
Simply put, McIlroy just shanked the shot.
The Irishman finished up this hole tied for 39th on the leaderboard at two-under-par.
