The Oakland Raiders were hosting the Detroit Lions Wednesday for the second day of practices between the two teams heading into Preseason Week 1.
The action Tuesday involved a minor spat but nothing major occurred. Then Wednesday, all hell broke loose.
We have a fight. Anthony Zettel comes over and hits Jon Feliciano in the back and Feliciano clubs him in the helmet and it was on. #Raiders

As the sidelines cleared, Raiders fans started chanting, which then led to some Lions players taunting them.
And now sidelines have cleared between Raiders and Lions. Jon Feliciano fired up after a play. Chirped with DT A’Shawn Robinson. Next snap: Feliciano roughed up LB Jarrad Davis on second-level block. DE Anthony Zettel took offense. Sprawl began as fans chanted: “Raaaiders.”

Now Lions players are trash talking fans, and it isn’t friendly.

There’s always a bit of danger that fights like this will break out when two teams meet up for practice during training camp.
However, it’s one thing to engage in some fisticuffs with your opponent, and quite another to start going after fans, even verbally.
Let’s just hope that cooler heads prevail in the future.
