Binghamton Rumble Ponies outfielder Tim Tebow just might have found his rhythm as a baseball player. On Friday night, the 30-year-old continued his hot stretch at the plate that could soon lead to a promotion.
In his first at-bat of the night against the Akron RubberDucks, Tebow drilled a solo home run deep over the left field wall. It was his sixth home run of the season and gave the Rumble Ponies a 2-0 lead.

It continues a lengthy hot streak at the plate for New York’s Double-A outfielder. Since June 2, he has a .333/.364/.448 slash line in 33 games with six doubles, two home runs, 16 RBI and 14 runs scored.
After Tebow slashed .234/.325/.372 in the first two months of the season, he has since turned around his numbers rapidly. It should only be a matter of time before he is promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas, a move that will have been well deserved.
Fans in New York may only have to wait until September to see the former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback in the New York Mets starting lineup. Even if it’s for marketing purposes, it’s quite an accomplishment for the 30-year-old.
