Report: Jets WR ArDarius Stewart facing two-game suspension

The New York Jets are going to need all hands on deck at the wide receiver position to help out their quarterback situation this season. Robby Anderson is coming off a drama-filled offseason that saw him in the news for all the wrong reasons. Meanwhile, former top receiver Quincy Enunwa missed all of the 2017 season to injury.

One of the players New York is set to rely on is 2017 third-round pick ArDarius Stewart. Unfortunately, it now looks like he’ll be absent from the team’s first two regular season games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

As the report notes, said suspension has not yet been confirmed by the NFL. But if it does go through, this will be a major early-season loss. Stewart recorded only six receptions for 82 yards as a rookie.

With that said, New York was expecting him to take that next step as a sophomore this coming season. He’s battling with Jermaine Kearse, Andre Roberts and Terrelle Pryor for playing time behind the two starters.
