Kentucky product Kevin Knox did not get the kind of welcome he was hoping for from New Yorkers after being selected by the Knicks No. 9 overall.
Rather than be welcomed with open arms, Knox was booed by some Knicks fans in attendance at Barclays Center Thursday night.

Mo Bamba had already been taken off the board, so the Knicks couldn’t end up with their local boy. Their fans also wanted Michael Porter Jr. to come to the Big Apple, but that didn’t happen, either.

But this isn’t a bad consolation prize here. And as the announcers noted, the booing might just indicate that Knox is going to become a star.
Welcome to New York, young man.
