In one of the most critical free agency periods in team history for the Los Angeles Lakers, many have expected the organization to pursue every possible top talent. Now it appears the Lakers pursuit of a trade for Kawhi Leonard might have cooled off a bit.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Lakers’ aggressiveness in a pursuit of a trade for the San Antonio Spurs star forward has been toned down in recent days.

It’s an interesting report in light of Paul George re-signing with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chris Paul re-signing with the Houston Rockets. The Lakers are the heavy favorites to sign Lebron James, but are likely in the market for another star player to pair with James.
Perhaps George coming off the market will accelerate potential trade talks for Leonard. As of now though, it seems as if Los Angeles is going to play things a little more cautiously and evaluate all of its options.
