LaVar Ball blasts NFL national anthem protests

Asking for LaVar Ball to be the voice of reason when it comes to anything is a bit foolish. This hasn’t stopped the helicopter father from having an opinion on everything to the moon and back.

So we shouldn’t be surprised that Ball is speaking out on the NFL’s new national anthem policy and players who have protested said anthem over the past couple seasons.

Shockingly, it seems that Ball sides with the NFL over the players.

“It’s their league. If you don’t want to do it, get out their league,” Ball told TMZ Sports. “That’s why I got my own league. Do what I want.”

Ball is referring to the Junior Basketball League that he plans on running himself. He also made it clear that those in his league will not kneel for the anthem.

“I got some youngsters, man. They going to do the anthem. They not going to be kneeling and doing all that,” Ball continued.

The NFL just recently instituted a new policy that bans players from showing disrespect to the anthem, including kneeling. Teams will have the choice to remain in the locker room during the playing of the song.

As it relates to Ball, he’s in the past gotten into a war or words with President Trump. While that’s the least shocking thing ever, it is surprising he’s siding with POTUS here.
