The Washington Capitals are one game away from hoisting the Stanley Cup, up 3-1 in the 2018 Stanley Cup Final over the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Not surprisingly, their fans are doing some rather strange stuff to “help” their favorite team out during this postseason run.
Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post posted a message on Twitter looking for Caps fans to share what superstitions they’ve been maintaining.
In search of Caps fans who have been maintaining any sort of playoff superstitions.

Some of the responses to this are just amazing. Here are our favorites.
@swellis_ and I make sure we have a dessert every intermission. Lots of ice cream and Oreos have been consumed.

I have instituted a system of not wearing anything Caps related on game days.

Got these painted the day before game 6 vs the Pens. Obviously can’t remove it now, no matter how bad it looks pic.twitter.com/ckZk4GD8QU

After being told I was the jinx fan, I haven't watched a live game since Game 2 v. CBJ. I also always ride my commuter train facing backwards. And now look where they are!

Since g7 of last round, I've eaten pimento cheese dip from @PennCommonsDC before the game. they didn't offer it on Memorial Day and we lost. then I had it delivered to my house for g2 and ate it before I watched outside the arena for g3 and g4. GUESS WHERE I WILL BE ON THURSDAY!

@gabrielle4nier and I have done Fireball shots for the first Caps goal (not every goal, we would die) since game 1 of the ECF. It worked well last night from inside Capital One Arena! pic.twitter.com/3ax5w9Tvjk

Every game, I do dishes during intermissions. It started as a way to make it up to my wife that I was spending so much time watching playoff hockey. Then it started working.

1.) haven't shaved or gotten a hair cut since playoffs started in early April
2.) wear the exact same outfit every game has not been washed yet— New Beginnings (@PCB_RIP_ST21) June 5, 2018
It’s only crazy if it doesn’t work, guys.
