No player in the NFL is as rich as Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan after he received a monster five-year contract extension on Thursday, trumping Kirk Cousins’ deal in a big way.
The 10-year veteran has definitely lived up to being the No. 3 overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft. In his career, Ryan has a record of 95-63 as a starter with 41,796 passing yards, 260 touchdowns and 126 interceptions.
Still, it’s pretty staggering to think about just how much cheddar he’s bringing home on this new deal. Not surprisingly, Twitter had some pretty great reactions to the contract.

Of course, Ryan won’t be the NFL’s highest-paid player for very long.
