The New York Mets sent Matt Harvey (who they had recently DFA’d) to the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday.
While Harvey’s 2018 season in New York was nothing short of disastrous, it wasn’t boring. Harvey can still get people talking. For proof, all we need to do is look at the actions of the Twitter world.

Lots of people around baseball thought Matt Harvey should spend some time in the minors. So he gets traded to the Reds which is basically a minor league team.

Matt Harvey going to the Reds is more of a demotion than going to the minors.

Trading Matt Harvey to the Reds might make their bad pitching staff "historically bad" #Mets

Matt Harvey to Reds doesn’t bring nearly the same outrage from us long-time Mets fans as Tom Seaver to the Reds in 1977.

Of course, it wasn’t just the team’s record and Harvey’s struggles that people were having fun with. Harvey has a history of enjoying the night life, something that will be much more difficult in Cincinnati than it was in New York. Additionally, Harvey turned down a Triple-A assignment…in Las Vegas. None if this went unnoticed.

Matt Harvey could’ve gone to the minor leagues (bad!) but moved to Vegas temporarily (good!). Instead, he stays in the big leagues (good!) but moves to Cincinnati for the long haul (guhhhhhhhhh!).

The Mets just sent Matt Harvey to the worst team in the league (the Reds) 😂 Can’t party there and definitely can’t win there. What a slap in the face.

Guessing Cincinnati was not Matt Harvey’s first choice for destination.

The other cruel twist for Matt Harvey, besides getting traded to a homer haven ballpark: Cincinnati's nightlife isn't exactly hopping.

Matt Harvey must be pissed about going to Cincinnati, not because of the team. But because he missed the Kentucky Derby by four days and the suspension he would of gotten for blowing off that days game and the three rounds of golf he would of gotten in.

We can’t wait to see how this one works out.
