Giancarlo Stanton hasn’t gotten many cheers directed his way this season, his first as a member of the New York Yankees. In fact, the former Miami star has been repeatedly, and quite viciously, we might add, booed for his early struggles at the plate.
That all changed on Monday night when Stanton went yard in a big way in the bottom of the fifth inning against the Minnesota Twins.
DESTROYED.

Stanton was no doubt pleased to hear those cheers. And they extended from the ballpark to social media as well.

If Stanton continues sending pitches deep like this, Yankees fans will have no reason to boo him. He’s now got five homers on the season and has driven in 13 runs. Once he gets into a groove, watch out.
