Sunday was quite an interesting day at the old ballpark for Tampa Bay Rays center fielder Carlos Gomez, who experienced some epic ups and downs.
Gomez first caught our eye when he got so frustrated by a fifth-inning strikeout that he snapped his bat like a freaking twig over his knee, Bo Jackson style.

Dude’s got plenty of strength, that’s for sure. The poor bat never had a chance.
A couple hours later, though, Gomez made up for both the strikeout and little tantrum with an epic two-run walkoff home run to put the Rays over the Minnesota Twins. Showing the same style as he did when he was angry, Gomez gave his bat some tough love with a huge bat flip into the turf after his no-doubt-about-it bomb to left field.

This blast gave the Rays an 8-6 win over the Twins, and proved to be quite the redemption song for Gomez, who has struggled through a brutal first month but now has three home runs and six RBI on the season.
