Carolina Panthers veteran linebacker Thomas Davis was just informed that he will be suspended four games for violating the NFL’s PED policy.
Quick to try to explain himself, Davis posted this to his Twitter account to convince his fans that he is not a “cheater.”
This is by far one of the saddest days of my NFL career. I never thought that this would happen to me. I’ve worked extremely hard to do things the right way on and off the field. Panther Nation please know that I am not a cheater. #KeepPounding pic.twitter.com/zUppMfm6yk

Davis explains he was “completely caught off guard” by this after testing positive for PEDs. The All-Pro linebacker claims he has been taking the same supplements for years and that he would never resort to cheating in the game.
Manning up, Davis says he will sit out the four games and watch his teammates, while hinting that this might not be his last year playing.
Davis had said he planned to retire after playing the 2018 season. He is an original 14th-overall pick by the Panthers in 2005 and has a total of 1,032 combined tackles, 28 sacks and 13 interceptions on record.
