Given the recent roster purge in Miami, it’s hardly surprising that linebacker Lawrence Timmons is the latest veteran to be released, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
The reshaping of the locker room continues in Miami: The #Dolphins are cutting LB Lawrence Timmons, who went AWOL last year and then returned.

As Rapoport mentioned, Timmons did go AWOL last year, and many thought the Dolphins would release him afterward. However, he did end up making a return to the roster, apologized for his mistake and ended up playing in 14 games.
The 31-year-old linebacker is a veteran of 11 seasons in the NFL. He previously played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and could potentially be headed back that way if he’s willing to take a discounted contract.
