Report: Buccaneers sign DE Vinny Curry

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reportedly added some edge pass-rush talent to go with All-Pro Gerald McCoy along the defensive line.

According to ESPN’s Jenna Laine, Tampa Bay has signed former Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Vinny Curry to a three-year, $27 million contract.

Curry, 29, was released by the Eagles earlier in the week after the team couldn’t find a trade partner. He’s coming off a 2017 campaign that saw him record 42 tackles and three sacks in 16 games (all starts).

While the sack numbers were not terribly impressive, Curry remained one of the most disruptive defensive ends in the game last season. In fact, he racked up 47 pressures during the regular season. That’s not too bad at all. He should also help McCoy by forcing teams to focus on pressure from the edge.
