The latest NFL trend is something we can all get behind. Minnesota Vikings fans have been donating to the charity inspired by New Orleans Saints punter Thomas Morstead, who played through a rib injury during the NFC Divisional Round.
A Reddit user sparked the idea to support What You Give Will Grow, an initiative that primarily focuses on pediatric cancer. The fundraiser is absolutely thriving, and Morstead is giving back.
The Saints punter updated the progress of the drive, posting that Vikings fans have surpassed $130,000 $160,000 in donations. Morstead previously said the money will go toward a Minnesota hospital.
More than 3,600 people have contributed, and the number continues to grow. When the effort eclipsed $100,000, Morstead said he would travel to Minneapolis and present a check to Children’s Minnesota.
Considering all the negative news we encounter these days, it’s wonderful to see a great initiative flourishing.
