Fresh off news that the Seattle Seahawks have fired offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, it looks like more changes are coming for the team.
According to this one report, defensive coordinator Kris Richard will not return to the team. In addition to that, Carl Smith is apparently out as quarterbacks coach.
Here’s what I’m hearing: Not just Bevell. Per sources: Kris Richard also out as DC, QB’s coach Carl Smith leaving as well.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport went on to clarify said report, noting that Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll wants Richard to explore other opportunities.
Kris Richard, who interviewed for the #Colts HC job, is available for a HC candidate. And #Seahawks will have an offseason of change. https://t.co/W26nTvaDrY

Richard has been the Seahawks’ defensive coordinator for each of the past three seasons. His units finished in the top three in points allowed in both 2015 and 2016 before falling to 13th this past season. Though, injuries to key defenders such as Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor and Cliff Avril obviously played a role in that regression.
Coming off a disappointing 9-7 season in which they missed the playoffs, big changes are in store for the Seahawks this offseason. Moving on from both coordinators proves this to a T.
