Bengals fans pay it forward, donate to Blake Bortles’ foundation

When the Cincinnati Bengals scored a last-minute touchdown to defeat the Baltimore Ravens and send the Buffalo Bills to the playoffs, Bills fans thanked Andy Dalton by donating to his foundation.

Bengals supporters are responding in a similar fashion following the Jacksonville Jaguars’ win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

According to First Coast News, more than 100 Bengals fans have donated a total approaching $5,000 to the Blake Bortles Foundation.

The Jaguars quarterback expressed his gratitude for the contributions.

“Fans are at the core of the football experience and it’s truly exciting and rewarding when they band together, regardless of the team they cheer for, to make a positive impact in the lives of others. I greatly appreciate the support displayed by Bengals fans and they should know their support will make a difference.”

Cincinnati didn’t make the playoffs, so the next-best thing for Bengals fans is Pittsburgh not winning the Super Bowl. Bortles posted 214 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions to help Jacksonville eliminate the Steelers.

It’s a wonderful act of kindness, and this is a trend everybody can get behind.

Plus, since the Jaguars will challenge the New England Patriots — a team many NFL fans are tired of watching win — in the AFC Championship, we can only imagine what donations would follow if Bortles and Co. spring the upset.
