New Orleans Saints rookie running back Alvin Kamara’s Week 16 jersey has been featured in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Extremely honored and “speechless,” Kamara tweeted this.

Now on display: jerseys of @saints RBs @MarkIngram22 & @alvinkamara from Week 16 when they became 1st RB tandem since 1985 to both have 1,400 scrimmage YDS in same season. Kamara, a strong candidate for MVP Offensive Rookie of the Year, tallied 1,554 scrimmage yards and 13 touchdowns. Ingram finished the season with a career-best, 1,540 scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns.
As we can see from this tweet by the Pro Football Hall of Fame, both running backs combined to make history throughout Weeks 16 and 17 of the 2017 season.
The duo became the first running back tandem since 1985 to both record 1,400 scrimmage yards in the same year. Then Kamara and Ingram achieved a historical first by becoming the first running back duo to tally at least 1,500 scrimmage yards in the same season.
This is quite amazing. Kamara also earned All-Pro honors, which is an extremely prestigious award for a rookie. Though, in the process he might have cost his veteran teammate a nice chunk of cash (more on that here).
Both running backs next suit up to play the Carolina Panthers in this week’s slate of wild ward playoff games. Talk about a phenomenal first year ride as a pro for Kamara.
