The social media world is abuzz with news that Twitter has expended its original 140-character tweet limit to 280 characters. Obviously, it’s led to some funny jokes and some absurdly bad tweets. This one scribe is guilty of the latter.
But the same cannot be said about the New York Yankees, who took full advantage of this new format to absolutely dominate Twitter on Wednesday.

That’s all sorts of brilliant right there. With 27 World Series titles, the Yankees lay claim to the most championships in the professional sports world. They couldn’t fit all this greatness into one tweet on the old format. So in their first post since, the Yankees decided to troll the rest of the MLB world.
Good job, Yankees.
