Report: Chip Kelly to meet with UCLA reps on Monday about HC vacancy

After meeting with representatives from the University of Florida Sunday, Chip Kelly will reportedly be meeting with representatives from UCLA Monday to discuss the vacant head coaching position.

Zach Barnett of Football Scoop reported on both these meetings, and Robbie Andreu of The Gainesville Sun confirmed that Florida’s representatives left Kelly without a deal in place.

UCLA fired Jim Mora on Sunday — on his birthday, adding insult to injury — after he led the program to a 46-30 record the past six years. Reportedly, UCLA has interest in former Florida head coach Jim McElwain in addition to Kelly, if you believe that.

The UCLA job is a prime gig still, despite the program’s lack of national success in recent years. It’s going to be fascinating to see how things unfold, both on the west coast and back east, in the coming days.
