Browns fan planning parade for 0-16 season

Bengals vs. Browns, dawg pound

Sometimes, the best way to deal with sports pain is to laugh. Holding a parade is a fitting way to celebrate the Cleveland Browns’ ineptitude.

Not only has Browns fan Chris McNeil started a crowdfunding initiative, he’s met with the city of Cleveland about the parade. The plan is for the gathering to occur on Jan. 6 between noon and 2 p.m. around FirstEnergy Stadium, the home of the Browns.

McNeil prepared for the same thingĀ last season, but the team managed to sneak out a 20-17 victory over the San Diego Chargers in Week 16.

The strangest result, without question, was a Cleveland radio host threatening a fightĀ at a Buffalo Wild Wings.

Anyway, the Browns are 0-11 entering Week 13. Perhaps history will repeat itself when they travel to face the Chargers, now of Los Angeles.

But if the surging Chargers drop Cleveland to 0-12, the remaining schedule includes the Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers. Green Bay has struggled without Aaron Rodgers and the Bears aren’t in great shape, yet Hue Jackson’s squad probably won’t be favored in any game.

Should the hapless Browns pull off a victory, though, all proceeds from the planned event will go to the Cleveland Food Bank. Last year, the team’s win resulted in anĀ $8,000 donation and 32,000 meals.
