Green Bay Packers rookie running back Aaron Jones was arrested on Oct. 1 and charged with operating with a restricted controlled substance, operating without a valid license and speeding.
Per NFL.com: “According to an incident report obtained from the Wisconsin State Patrol, Trooper D. Larson clocked Jones’ vehicle traveling 79 in a 55 miles-per-hour zone on Highway 172 east of Pilgram Way exit in Green Bay on Oct. 1.”
The officer smelled marijuana coming out of Jones’ vehicle and noticed he had bloodshot eyes, per the police report. When asked about it, Jones reportedly admitted he smoked before driving after he had eaten breakfast. He also failed a field sobriety test, needing to use his arms for balance.
Jones is currently out with a knee injury, which sidelined him for roughly a month. So far this season, the rookie has rushed for 370 yards and three touchdowns on 70 attempts.
It’s likely Jones will face some form of discipline by the NFL for his arrest and for smoking marijuana, which is a banned substance.
