The Penn State Nittany Lions got tested tonight in Iowa City, perhaps none more than quarterback Trace McSorley. However, the junior rose to the challenge, leading Penn State on a game-winning drive down four points. It culminated on fourth-and-goal from Iowa’s 7-yard line, where McSorley made the throw of his life to win the game.

Avoiding the upset moves Penn State to 4-0 as the season heats up. It also keeps them at the top of the Big Ten East, one of the toughest divisions in all of college football. Surviving the night at Kinnick Stadium — something another Big Ten East team, Michigan, couldn’t do last year — could be what ultimately pushes the Nittany Lions into the playoff.
