Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has been hit a lot against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. He took a long time to get up after being sacked for the sixth time.
Cam Newton has been sacked 6 times in 3 quarters and just got blasted on two straight plays. He's still face down on turf

The hit was certainly not pretty.

Despite that, the Panthers got some good news. First, he eventually left on his own, albeit with a limp.
Second, it was not a shoulder injury. Given that Newton’s shoulder limited his role in training camp, it’s promising that that part of his body appeared unscathed.
Finally, Newton did return to the game.
While his injury will be worth monitoring, it appears as though disaster has been avoided.
