Adam Gase: Lawrence Timmons ‘taking the steps to make it back’

Lawrence Timmons suspended indefinitely by Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins recently suspended Lawrence Timmons “indefinitely” after the linebacker went AWOL before the team’s Week 2 game in Los Angeles. On that same day, Miami made a trade to acquire linebacker Stephone Anthony, a former first-round pick of the New Orleans Saints. This led many to believe Timmons’ time in Miami was coming to an end.

While that’s still a possibility, Dolphins head coach Adam Gase told reporters that Timmons is “taking the right steps to make it back,” per Florida Football Insiders.

At this point, however, nobody really knows what’s going on with Timmons. The Dolphins were reportedly having him checked out medically, and FFI openly wonders if there’s a psychological situation playing out.

Dolphins teammate Ndamukong Suh told the Palm Beach Post earlier this week that he’s been trying to get in touch with Timmons. He did seem optimistic that Timmons is getting whatever help he needs now, saying, “Right now, from my understanding – and I don’t know everything – I think he’s in good hands.”

Timmons signed with the Dolphins this offseason after spending his first 10 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
