Taj Gibson donates $20K to 3-year-old daughter of Chynna Battle

Taj Gibson will be a highly sought-after free agent.

Brooklyn native Taj Gibson, who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has donated $20,000 to the three-year-old daughter of Chynna Battle.

Battle was slain on July 12 when two armed men shot into a crowded courtyard outside the Stuyvesant Garden Houses. She left behind her daughter, Amelia, and a GoFundMe account was set up to help support her.

“Everything she did revolved around making sure her daughter was good. Amelia may not remember all the memories she and her mother made being that she is so young.. What these cowards done to Chynna was cruel and reckless. Our family has set up this fund to assist with the day to day needs for Chynna Ann’s daughter, she always wanted the very best for her ‘Milly’ and worked everyday to provide for her.”

To this point, $23,955 has been raised, with Gibson obviously providing the bulk of the funding. The page’s stated goal is $30,000.

Chynna Battle’s memorial service was held last Friday, where “hundreds of people” mourned the loss of her life while celebrating the person they loved.
