No one ever questioned whether Texas Rangers infielder Joey Gallo had power. Up to this point in his young career, it’s been all about making contact.
Heading into the 2017 season, Gallo had struck out a whopping 50 percent of the time he stepped to the plate in parts of two years with Texas.
Now, beginning the season as the Rangers’ starting third baseman with Adrian Beltre on the disabled list, Gallo is being given an opportunity to show his power.
Boy, did he ever do that Tuesday night against Cleveland Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco.

That’s what we would call a moon shot. The ball went well into the upper deck in Arlington, clearing multiple rows of nose-bleed seats in the process.
