According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, Toronto Blue Jays’ MVP third baseman Josh Donaldson could be out for 2-4 weeks with a recurring calf issue.
Jon Morosi recently told MLB Network Donaldson would more than likely be placed on the disabled list. While we weren’t sure of the length of the time he would spend on the list, this is not quite what we were expecting.
Calf injuries aren’t typically serious, but Donaldson has some serious production in the batter’s box that helped the team land in postseason play last year. And even with an abbreviated season, he’s slashing a .310/.429/.586 line.
This just adds to the bad news for the Blue Jays who sit in last place with a 2-10 record in the American League East.
