Clark and Gleason aren’t strangers. Recently, Clark was one of many current and former players who donated signed memorabilia to the Answer ALS foundation to help fund a cure for the disease, which is also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Gleason, who announced he was stricken with the disease in 2011, has been blessed with a tremendous amount of support from the New Orleans Saints organization as a whole and his former teammates. Clark noted in his statement released Sunday that every single one of his former 49ers teammates had reached out to him to offer their support.
We wish both men and their families well as they fight this debilitating disease.
