Maualuga, 30, was a second-round pick of the Bengals back in 2009. He’s started 104 games in eight seasons for Cincinnati, recording 100-plus tackles twice.
The USC product proved to be a liability in coverage recently, which likely led to this move for Marvin Lewis and Co. Though, his on-field leadership will surely be missed.
